First off - I am not a blogger but realize that this might be a way for me to share with you what I have been up to and what inspires me. So here we go...
February has been an interesting but special month for me and my family. Our weekends and weekdays were filled with back to back birthday parties. Valentine's Day was spent with the ones I love, despite it being on a weekday. Followed by having the great honor of attending my godson's baptism. I'm very excited to be a Ninang/godmother to a very special boy. And I managed to work on some new #kotaskreations. All these were the special moments that I was able to enjoy because of discovering hygge.
The non-stop rain and gloomy weather along with sick kids put a damper on things for me. It was impossible to take decent pictures with the lack of clear skies and even more difficult to sew without feeling the guilt of not giving 100% to my sick kids. The bright side out of this storm was that Spring showed its beauty with many almond and cherry blossoms blooming in the Bay Area. My absolute favorite sites to see this time of year. My morning hygge routine is to open our blinds to see the beautiful pink cherry blossoms. Surrounding myself with pretty fabric was another way I hygged. My recent decision to take a break from social media was by far the best way I practiced hygge. Not being glued to my phone/laptop allowed me to be more present and also happier. Having practiced hygge for a month, I am now a believer of this Danish concept of creating coziness in your life. Something about being present truly allows you to see more clearly and enjoy the simple things.
If you have not heard of Hygge and are intrigued, I highly recommend googling this Danish concept.
